Mahmud Merali, Regional Head for EMEA, brings over 40 years of experience as a trusted advisor to multinational clients across East Africa, the GCC, and the UK. Leading Baker Tilly Meralis’ international and financial consulting practice, Mahmud ensures the delivery of high-quality global solutions with a strong local understanding. With offices in London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and East Africa, he upholds the highest standards of audit and consulting excellence.

A distinguished leader, Mahmud serves as Vice Chairman on the board of a publicly listed Turkish company, contributing to its Corporate Governance and Audit & Risk Management Committees. He also consults for the Dubai Real Estate Institute, specializing in Service Charge Audits, budget reviews, and governance enhancements for Owners Associations.

Mahmud’s qualifications include being a Fellow of ICAEW, a Certified Public Accountant (Kenya), and an Associate Member of the UK Institute of Taxation. His extensive experience and global perspective make him a key asset in supporting clients with clarity, reliability, and expertise across markets.

Madhav leads our regional team across Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Somalia, bringing unmatched expertise in East Africa’s business landscape. As a trusted advisor, he combines strong technical skills with a commitment to client success. With extensive experience in leading assurance, advisory, and complex forensic projects, he has worked with international clients, national governments, and development partners like the UN. Known for his strategic insight and straightforward communication, Madhav has built a team of regional experts, delivering reliable, impactful service across sectors. His leadership ensures clarity and results-driven support for clients, including in devolution, government consulting, and debt restructuring.
